An unexpected flood is sure to ravage any electronics in its path.
Water not only leaves nasty looking stains all over electronic equipment, it penetrates and collects leaving trapped moisture inside which could lead to many other issues from unpleasant odors to the growth of bacteria and mold. Before this equipment can once again be plugged-in and functional, it must first be properly treated and cleaned. The pre-conceived notion that electronics that are exposed to moisture, are ruined and unsalvageable is not entirely true.
The key is quick response time. If the correct steps are taken and the item in question is dried properly, more often than not the item can be salvaged. Electronics will not start to corrode until after the introduced to oxygen. However, simply drying electronics is not enough. Moisture leaves behind a conductive residue the same way fire and smoke damage leave behind corrosive residues. Water damaged items can be cleaned with a cleaning solution and rinsed using de-ionized water.

Exposure to smoke can ravage electronic equipment in more ways than one.
The restoration process is also completely dependant on what kind of fire was burning, as different situations cause different sorts of damage to electronics. For instance, a smoldering fire burning at a lower temperature will leave wet smoke residue, which is sticky, smelly and difficult to clean. A faster, hotter burning fire will leave dry smoke residues, which are generally more powdery and flaky then their counterpart. Then there are protein residues left behind, which are sure to discolor paint and invade your nose with pungeant odors.
Smoke does so much damage because of the way it moves, penetrating into cracks and crevases in many surfaces you wouldn't expect and causing damage and odors to eminate. Also, it is common for smoke to travel thru a home or business via the plumbing pipes and HVAC systems entering areas of the building otherwise not directly affected by the fire.
Using industry standard equipment such as Hydroxl Generators and Ozone Technology, we are able to remove odors on a molecular level before completing the finished restoration process which is sure to have your equipment back in its pre-loss state.

The nature of a fire creates special problems worthy of comprehensive treatment.
Soot from fires often contains corrosive acids due to burning plastics, particularly, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). These corrosive acids, in combination with moisture in the air, produce hydrochloric acid, a very damaging toxin. Can your electronics be fixed? Of course Techno Klean, Inc. can repair your electronics. One of the many methods we utilize is ultrasonic cleaning. This process is designed to remove all fire by-products from the inside of electronic equipment, using de-ionized water and specialized drying ovens to restore the equipment to its prior operating performance.

After a disaster such as a flood or a fire, chances are your electronics are not only damaged, but also emitting an unpleasant odor. In the case of water damage, this can be attributed to excessive moisture remaining inside your electronics equipment.
